Description
This will be our SIXTH annual special Service Project/Hiking Alumni Weekend! We are excited to present a weekend for staff, friends, family (including kids), and alumni of MenHealing. Only FIFTEEN spots are available for this popular weekend, please register soon.
This innovative weekend will be conducted at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary located near Kanab, UT. Click here to see a video of a previous weekend.
Best Friends is a safe haven for approximately 1,600 homeless animals. At the Sanctuary, animals are loved and given what they need to live their best lives until they find their forever homes. For some, it is a place of recovering and healing and for others it is their home between homes. Best Friends is the largest no-kill animal sanctuary in the United States and is the home base for Best Friends Animal Society. Read more about the Best Friends Animal Society here
Event Schedule
Three volunteer shifts will be scheduled at the Sanctuary; one each day for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Participants will work together as a group in several of our animal care areas, and the tasks will depend on the needs of the Sanctuary. Some project examples are deep cleaning in the animal care areas, assisting with socialization, trail maintenance, landscaping, weeding, or painting. Participants will have an opportunity for a second session caring for animals or moderate-level hike on Saturday afternoon.
The full registration fee (including lodging, meals, and program fees) is $750 for a single person. All rooms have 2 queen beds. If you have another adult with whom you would like to share a room, the fee will be $350 for the second registrant = $1,100 total. If you are sharing a room with a child, the additional fee is $200 per child. Maximum of 2 adults and 2 children per room. Lodging will be provided by the Best Friends Roadhouse. Participants can add an additional night and leave on Monday if they choose. Details to book additional night(s) will be in confirmation emails.
You can register now with a 50% deposit due by January 31st, and the balance payable by February 28th, 2026. Simply choose "pay later" at checkout and you will be contacted to set up payment.

The nearest airports to Kanab are St. George, UT. = 1 ½ hour; Las Vegas, NV = 3 hours; or Salt Lake = 5 hours. Please consider the distance when making your travel plans.
Cancellation Policy: Before January 31, 2025 refundable minus $150 per person admin fee. After January 31, 2025 there can be no refunds as we are required to reserve and pay in advance.
